Good Design Award 2015 for Konica Minolta bizhub 367/287/227

Konica Minolta is very proud of having won the Good Design Award 2015 for our A3 monochrome MFPs bizhub 367/287/227 and the bizhub Remote Access mobile application by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion (JDP).

With respect to the bizhub 367/287/227, the jury pointed out the symbolic white plate on the MFPs’ front side, which stood in stark contrast to its black body. Since user contact points are concentrated here, it can be intuitively recognised by users as an operation and control component. Its smart design delivers enhanced usability and higher productivity along with improved user guidance.

bizhub Remote Access allows usage of the bizhub device from Android and iOS smartphones and tablets. Based on the BYOD approach, it displays the MFP panel screen on the mobile device and enables the remote operation from almost anywhere in the office, offering maximum flexibility and convenience for office workers.

All in all, the jury commented that with respect to accessibility, remote operation from mobile devices that are used on a daily basis were vastly enabled by bizhub Remote Access. Additional features such as easy-to-hold grip of paper cassette from upper and lower side, matching colour design, including screen display, and comfortable multi-touch operations are thoughtfully designed for office workers of all sorts. Hardware and software are both distinguished by their well-balanced design.
