How does the YSoft SafeQ system work?

The YSoft SafeQ Platform operates through a central component called the YSoft SafeQ server, which serves as the core of the entire system. When a job is submitted for printing, it is immediately directed to the YSoft SafeQ server.

Upon receiving the job, the YSoft SafeQ server verifies the access rights and printing rules configured for the user initiating the print request. Based on these settings, the job is processed in one of the following ways:

Released for Printing: If the access rights and printing rules permit, the job is released for printing in its original form.

Adjusted Printing: In some cases, the YSoft SafeQ server may apply adjustments to the job before sending it to the printer. These adjustments are made in accordance with the predefined rules. For example, the server may enforce duplex printing or convert colour prints to black and white.

Rejection: If the access rights or printing rules restrict the job from being printed, the YSoft SafeQ server rejects the job entirely.

The YSoft SafeQ server maintains a record of all print, copy, and scan jobs within the network. This feature enables the system to provide accurate online accounting and reporting, which can be customised according to your specific requirements.

To control access to print jobs on the output side, the YSoft SafeQ Platform employs hardware or integrated terminals. These terminals can be equipped with card readers, allowing for sophisticated and user-friendly authorisation methods. By implementing this access control mechanism, the system effectively prevents printer misuse. Consequently, printers can be securely placed in the hallways or common areas of your building.

Users can utilise the terminals to manage and assign billing codes to their printing jobs, providing additional flexibility and control over printing-related expenses.
